🕹️ Overview

Super Mario (Prototype) is a side-scrolling 2D platformer inspired by the iconic Super Mario series. Built in Unity, this project serves as a tribute and a foundational step in my game development journey. Players can run, jump, stomp on Goombas, collect power-ups, and race against time to complete the level.

🧠 Project Context
This single-level prototype was developed as part of my Unity learning process. It focuses on recreating key mechanics from classic platformers while experimenting with UI systems, audio, and game flow.

🔧 Features

  • Player movement, jumping, and sprite animation handling

  • Stompable Goombas with proper collision detection

  • Collectible coins, mushrooms, and timer power-ups

  • Score tracking and lives system

  • Background music and sound effects (coin, jump, power-up, game over, level complete)

  • Game timer that rewards points based on time left

  • Level complete trigger with score conversion

  • Simple main menu, game over, and level complete UI

  • Persistent background music system between scenes

⚠️ Known Limitations

  • Only a single level is currently implemented

  • Final polish on collision detection and player death animations pending
